Are you interested in intergalactic travel? What would you hope to discover?

As someone who is a massive sci-fi fan and enjoys shows like Doctor Who and at one point, Supernatural and films like Star Trek and Star Wars, it is safe to say that I am definitely interested in intergalactic travel. To quote the movie Contact, "The universe is a pretty big place. It's bigger than anything anyone has ever dreamed of before. So if it's just us... seems like an awful waste of space. Right?"

The universe is so vast and infinite and at the same time, beautiful and mysterious that who would ever pass up the chance to experience it? I'm interested in intergalactic travel, simply because I want to know what's out there, up in space. I want to see the Earth from space and see it orbit the sun. I want to wtiness Mars, Jupiter, Venus, Mercury, Neptune, Uranus, and Saturn with my very own eyes their revolution around the sun - the most natural thing in this world and galaxy.

To be honest, who knows what one might discover in intergalactic travel? It may not be as adventurous or even heroic as depicted in Doctor Who and Star Trek. But I hope to discover life in other galaxies and know that we are not alone in this universe. Even if I do not find other forms of life in the universe, maybe I shall discover the fact that we, as the inhabitants of Earth - the only planet to support life, hit the cosmic jackpot. That the Big Bang theory or a higher being that one may call God created something out of nothing.

No matter what I discover in space, intergalactic travel sound like an awfully big adventure.

Love Actually

On July 9, 2009, I went to the New York City premiere of the sixth Harry Potter film.

It was the best day of my life, despite the fact that I waited ten hours just to catch a glimpse of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, Michael Gambon, Alan Rickman, and others.

I met so many great people while waiting and we talked about the books, the films, and our lives. We clapped and hollered every time a car honked for Harry Potter. We laughed together, screamed together, and bonded together over something that has changed and touched our lives for the better.

I shall sum up the premiere in this list:

- You can go to the bathroom. Just be prepared to jump over barricades. XD

- I got a free Harry Potter poster (the ones they use for the premiere, not like a paper one) and it was signed by Dan and Rupert.

- Daniel is adorable and indeed shorter than myself (though I'm pretty tall so everyone seems shorter than me). He signed for everyone that he could and was so completely in touch with his fans. I like him even more now that I've seen him in person.

- Emma is gorgeous in person, but she skipped over my section of the crowd so I didn't get her autograph. Her brother, Alex, was there and I've got to say, he was pretty cute. He was nice enough to talk to fans and sign autographs. Her boyfriend, Jay Barrymore (I believe that is his name), was also there and he looks like Prince William. He can also pass as Tom Felton's brother. :X Her father was a doll. He took photos for some fans.

- Tom is really good looking in person, though his hair is crazy platinum blond. His girlfriend, Jade Olivia, also attended. Some fan commented on Yahoo! that he looked like he had a quickie in the limo (actually it was an Audi van) because his bow tie was untied. I called him a douchebag because he skipped over us, but that was ten hours of waiting talking and I felt bad afterwards.

- Rupert was very quiet. He seemed nice, but awkward.

- The handlers and police officers looked at us like we were terrorists or something. Jesus, we're just fans who waited a very long time just to see them.

- Bonnie looked gorgeous, but she didn't sign autographs and she didn't even bother to acknowledge our presence even though we kept screaming her name for her to just look at us. My opinion of her has lowered.

- Michael Gambon was there, but he didn't sign for fans. Alan Rickman also attended and he was kind enough to wave at us. The guy who plays Cormac McLaggen, Freddie Stroma, was there. I saw him on the red carpet, but had no idea who he was until I came home and saw the press premiere photos.

- A lot of other celebrities came like Denis Leary, Kelsey Grammar, Eric Mabius (Daniel from Ugly Betty), Diane Sawyer, Lance Bass (yes, Lance Bass), Mark Indelicato (Justin from Ugly Betty), Michelle Trachtenberg, and other actors.

- We also spied the actor who plays Rufus Humphrey in Gossip Girl who drove by. At least, I think it was him. XD

- The red carpet was pretty empty though. I wish the rest of the Harry Potter cast could have attended. Like Matthew Lewis, who is a hottie.

- My camera is amazing. Enough said.

In conclusion, this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I'm so thankful that I had a chance to meet some really amazing people.
